The new company was formed following 9 months of discussions between MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd and Stopford Projects Ltd. who together have recognised the major synergies that both companies offer each other in the field of turnkey design and build projects within the chemical and process related industries.

Stopford Projects is a leading engineering design and consultancy group with offices based in the heart of the process industries in Ellesmere Port and Wilton on Teeside.

The new company MHA-Stopford Ltd will have its head office based in Ellesmere Port at the newly refurbished Customs House where MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd. North West office already resides.

The formation of the new company, MHA-Stopford Ltd. will offer the clients of both Stopford Project Ltd. and MHA-Stopford Ltd. further representation from the head office of MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd., based in Luton and North East office of Stopford Projects at Wilton.

The impressive blue chip client list of Stopford Projects Ltd., which includes such prestigious names as Astra Zeneca, BP, Ciba, ICI, Kemira, Shell Urenco and Total, to name but a few, when coupled with the equally impressive list of Blue Chip clients serviced by MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd, will allow the new company to offer its extended client base a vast range of experience and knowledge adopting the best practice techniques across the complete spectrum of industries.
