The latest order from BMW for the MacDonald Humfrey (Products) Ltd innovative ‘MachPick’ (Programmable Error proofing pick to light) product, accompanies notable automotive giants Ford Motor Company, Land Rover, and Jaguar Cars in confirming the MachPick product as the product of choice when it comes to error proofing pick to light solutions.
To date, Ford have adopted the MachPick solution for their Dagenham and Bridgend Engine Plants for main line assembly stations and Bridgend have utilised the MachPick Products to its full extent for three kitting loops. The three kitting loops are totally self contained operating on a balanced system princple with the output lane levels determining the next kits to be picked. The 22 output lanes are prioritised to select one of 16 assembly kits with up to 5 operators picking different kits simultaneously in each kitting loop.
Land Rover selected the MachPick product for critical label fit applications, Heater Pipes, Side Vents and Badge Fit stations, Jaguar Cars for Auxiliary Switch and Seat Belt Fit stations.
The latest order from BMW is to ensure operators select with first time accuracy and error proof warning the correct lock fit wheel nuts for each vehicle.
