MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd awarded major baggage system upgrade contract for London Luton Airport

MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd have been awarded the full turnkey systems integration contract for the phasing out and replacement of London Luton Airports existing Telebag Intelligent Destination Coded Vehicle (IDCV) baggage handling system.

MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd have been awarded the complete controls system integration contract to undertake a phased replacement of the existing Telebag IDCV baggage handling system at London Luton Airport.

MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd were the original installers of the Telebag control system at London Luton Airport in 1998, which at the time and still is today the largest installation of the Telebag IDCV world wide.

The new system which is replacing the primary delivery system at London Luton Airport will be based on conventional belt conveyor technology.

The new system will replace the current IDCV system in a phased manner, to ensure minimal disruption to the airports operations.

MacDonald Humfrey (Automation) Ltd who already undertake the full maintenance contract for the all of the Airports baggage handling systems will be responsible for the complete turnkey control system and integration undertaking all aspects of the project adopting in-house resource inclusive of project management, design engineering, PLC systems software, SCADA system software, control panel design manufacture and assembly, site installation, commissioning and support.
